FAQs
What is your booking policy?
A booking fee is required to secure your appointment. If you wish to change or cancel your appointment you may do so up to 48 hours in advance using our online booking system or by contacting me via social media or messaging 07591 688 722 and your booking fee will be transferred or refunded as appropriate. Booking fees on appointments rearranged or cancelled with less than 48 hours will be non-refundable. If you fail to turn up to an appointment without letting The Wax Studio know you will be billed for 100% of the appointment cost.
How long does my hair need to be to get waxed?
To get the best results please leave your hair to grow for at least 4 weeks after waxing or 3 weeks after shaving or using any hair removal creams. Your hair needs to be at least 1cm long prior to your appointment.
How often will I need to get waxed?
This will be different for everyone; however I recommend booking an appointment every 4-6 weeks. It will take a few visits to regulate your hair growth cycle and get the best results from being waxed. Please don’t shave or use hair removal creams between your appointments as this will affect the overall results. Routine waxing will make your wax will last longer and your hair will grow back slower and sparser.
Will getting waxed hurt?
You may experience some discomfort during your wax but this will be short lived. However it will become less uncomfortable the more regularly you wax, this is because your hair will grow back thinner and you will get used to being waxed.
How do I book?
Bookings can be made using the ‘Book now’ button at the top of the page. To make it easier to manage your appointments and make future bookings you can download the ‘Ovatu You’ app and login with the email address and password you created when making your first booking. Here you will be able to view, book and modify any bookings with The Wax Studio. If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything prior to booking please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Before your appointment…
Once you have booked you will receive a consultation form via email. Please complete this form as soon as possible so that I can review the information and contact you to discuss if there are any contraindications to you getting waxed.
After your appointment….
You will be provided with a full aftercare advice leaflet which will be given and discussed with you on your first appointment. A range of aftercare products are available to purchase from The Wax Studio to help you ensure the best results from your wax and prevent any ingrown hairs.
Covid-19 and Infection Prevention
Please do not attend if you have symptoms of coronavirus (please check the NHS website for up to date symptoms list). The cancellation policy will not apply in these circumstances but please do let us know so that we can try to fill your appointment (evidence of pcr or lateral flow results may be requested for booking fee refunds). All government guidelines will be followed relating to keeping both myself and clients safe. Cleaning of surfaces and equipment will take place before and after every client’s appointment to minimise any risk of coronavirus transmission. Spatulas are only ever dipped into the wax pots once then disposed of to prevent contamination of the wax. Non disposable equipment such as tweezers will be cleaned and are sterilised between clients.
Transgender Waxing
Everyone is welcome at The Wax Studio and will be treated with dignity and respect at all times. If you are in the process of transition, or fully completed your transition we ask for you to book a selection of treatments from either male or female waxing that best suits your current anatomy. Feel free to put a comment on your first booking to let me know why you have chosen a specific selection of treatments. If you are unsure of what to book then please don’t hesitate to ask and I will happily guide you.
